Scottish Equine Artist Karen Young

Equine Art In Colour!

Karen Young captures not only the beauty of these wonderful horses in her pictures but also has a deep rooted talent for capturing the horses personality.

Karen 33, resides near Glasgow and is married with two children, Skye and Alexander. Karen currently works full time for Scottish Enterprise and uses what little spare time she has to paint and draw pictures and paintings of horses.

Despite a busy schedule Karen still manages to dedicate some of her time to her local Riding for the Disabled group. (RDA) Admirably Karen would very much like to raise funds for the group who are not fortunate enough to have their own special ponies and who need funds so that they can cover the costs of transporting the children to the nearest riding school that caters for these children with very special needs.

horse paintings Karen has had no formal training but feels fortunate to have inherited her gift from her mother.

Needless to say Karen achieved A's for her art exams at school. Karens school books were often covered with sketches and drawings of horses!

Karen would very much like to offer the horse owner, the opportunity to own their very own portrait of their loved ones.

"A portrait of our horses always has a very special place in our hearts" says Karen. "It is for this reason that I offer my work at very fair prices so that everyone has the opportunity to have a portrait of their horse hanging in thier home." Karen is passionate about horses but does not own her own at this present time. However she did once own a !3.1hh Connemara cross named Dizzy Dusty and her foal Amber.
